About this project

Martin Kaiser from Gustav Stresemann Institut in Niedersachsen e.V. is responsible for this project
Which narratives are heard in public discourse, and which are silenced – and by whom?
Many voices in our societies remain unheard. In today’s political and global climate, it is more important than ever to make marginalized perspectives visible. Through the transatlantic project "Neglected Stories", we create spaces and forums where people with experiences of marginalization from Germany and the U.S. come together to share their stories and perspectives – for an inclusive and diverse society! This work takes place in two seminars, one in Germany (Bad Bevensen, Hamburg, Berlin) and one in the U.S. (Mississippi, Philadelphia), where participants engage deeply with this mission.
Why do we need your support?
Visibility requires resources. Your donation helps us to:
• Create access: We cover accommodation, meals, travel, and visa costs for participants with limited or no financial ressources.
• Provide professional support: Experts ensure a discrimination-sensitive and secure environment for participants.
• Honor contributions: We compensate civil society initiatives that contribute their time and knowledge to the project, recognizing the often unpaid nature of their work.
• Increase visibility: Your donation helps create material resources (e.g., publications) that make the insights and stories accessible to a broader public.
Who benefits?
Project participants and partner organizations who counter antidemocratic attitudes and foster pluralistic dialogue. Your support directly benefits individuals and groups dedicated to building a fair and inclusive society.
