Small paws, big help - support for our kittens and sick cats
What problem are we solving?
Every year, countless orphaned, sick or abandoned kittens end up at the Oberwürzbach cat shelter. They are often bottle-fed kittens that would have no chance of survival without their mother. In addition, there are kittens that have been weakened by illness or accidents, as well as animals that have been abandoned. All these cats urgently need our help: from intensive care to placement in a loving home.
Who do we want to help?
Our work is aimed at:
- Bottle-fed kittens who need to be fed special food every 2-3 hours.
- Sick cats who need medical treatment and care.
- Abandoned cats who often arrive traumatised or in poor condition.
How do we proceed?
1. care with heart and mind: bottle-fed kittens receive round-the-clock care.
2. medical care: Sick cats are treated and nursed back to health.
3. placement in a home: Thanks to our high placement rate, most cats find a new home.
4. education and prevention: We raise awareness about neutering and species-appropriate husbandry.
Who works with us?
Our team consists exclusively of volunteers. Every donation goes directly towards the care of the animals, as we work without major funding.
Why do we need support?
Care is associated with high costs:
- Specialised food for bottle-fed kittens is expensive.
- Many cats need medication and operations.
- The running costs for the cat house, such as cleaning and maintenance, are considerable.
Our success speaks for itself
We are proud of our exceptionally high placement rate and have already given countless cats a new home.
How long does our project last?
Our work is ongoing, as new emergency cases are added every year. Especially in the kitten season in spring and summer we are dependent on your support.
