About this project

Dr. Miriam Weber from AQUEIS e.V. is responsible for this project
Your support can make a lasting difference in the fight against plastic pollution in one of the world’s most vital marine ecosystems. By donating to the No-Trash Triangle Initiative, you’ll help us continue and expand our life-changing work:

🌊 “SCHOOL ON THE BEACH” - Our marine biology program for Junior High Schools
Your donation helps empower the next generation through our marine biology program designed for kids living in the Coral Triangle. We inspire local students to become ocean ambassadors. This initiative teaches environmental responsibility and nurtures a love for protecting marine ecosystems.
Your donation will support the costs of teaching materials for the kids, as well as the salaries and transportation of our teachers, ensuring they can reach Bangka and Bunaken Islands from Manado. With your help, we can keep this program running and eventually expand to more communities on other islands, empowering even more young minds.

🌊"NO-Trash RIVER" - River Barriers to Stop Plastic at Its Source
We’re tackling plastic pollution head-on with our No-Trash River Project around Manado City. Your support covers the costs of installing and maintaining river barriers, as well as collecting and properly treating the waste they trap. By stopping plastic before it enters the ocean, we protect the biodiversity of the Bunaken Marine Protected Area and the livelihoods of families dependent on fisheries and tourism. So far, we've stopped tons of trash from reaching the ocean—let’s do even more!

🌊 "BANGGA BANGKA!" – Women-Led Household Waste Collection on Bangka Island
We’re launching a new project in Lihunu village! Bangga Bangka, which in Indonesian means “Proud of Bangka,” is a pilot project that aims to empower the women of the small fishing village of Lihunu while providing, for the first time, waste collection services to private households.
Communities on North Sulawesi’s islands face unique challenges in managing waste, as there are no alternatives beyond burning it or dumping it into the environment.
With your support, we can provide families with a safe and sustainable waste management solution. Your contributions will directly fund bins for families, salaries for the women employed as collection and sorting staff, and logistics costs to ensure the waste is safely transported from this beautiful island to the mainland for recycling.

Donate today and join the fight for our oceans! —every donation makes a difference.
