We believe that every child deserves the chance of an education and prospects for the future.
That is why we have founded a preschool next to our orphanage in Kenya, where three incredibly dedicated teachers teach around 70 children from the slum who would otherwise not be able to attend school.
Most of the pupils are orphans, half-orphans or children of single mothers who are unable to provide for their children on their own. At the school, the children receive free education as well as a warm school meal, while the mothers can take part in our Women Empowerment Workshops where they receive professional training or even take up small jobs.
To run the school on a permanent basis, we need €10,520 per year.
This is divided into around €1100 for school materials and uniforms, €6000 for school meals over the entire year and the salaries of our three teachers totalling €3420 per year.
Around €95 covers the salary of one teacher for a month and thus the seating for around 25 children.
Around €15 provides a child with school materials for a year.
Our local school is currently receiving free school meals from a supporter for as long as this is possible. ❤️ That's really great!
If we can raise the remaining €4520 per year together, we can give around 70 children from the most difficult backgrounds the chance of an education and prospects for the future!

As a privately organised non-profit association, Smile for Children e.V. does not spend any money on administrative costs. All income that the organisation receives from donations is used locally in Kenya. This means that your aid reaches the women directly and can provide help immediately!
