About this project

Robert from Queer Cities e. V. is responsible for this project
The inclusion project “Initiativbewerbung mit Team Behinderte” (IBmTB) has a unique track record in Bremerhaven and Bremen. Not only has it reached the required number of participants and job offers, it has also far exceeded the targets. After just three months, the first employment contract in the primary labor market was already in place for a participant who had worked for many years in the gardening area of the workshop. Thanks to our project, a gardener with disabilities and a retirement home with a park were able to find and get to know each other. By way of comparison, the workshops in Bremen, with thousands of people in their care and hundreds of carers, manage 1-3 placements a year.

IBmTB offers people with disabilities comprehensive preparation and support on their way into the primary labor market. Thanks to this approach, many participants have found suitable employment that not only matches their abilities, but has also significantly improved their quality of life. You can find out more about the successes to date here.

Why we need your help

Unfortunately, the Bremen state government has decided not to continue funding the project, despite its impressive impact and positive response. In order to continue to offer people with disabilities a perspective, we are now dependent on your support. Your donation is crucial to continue this important offer!

What makes our project special?

The project consists of four phases:

Group work and confidence building: participants learn to support each other in a protected environment in order to be prepared for the transition into the job market
Job search: We identify suitable jobs that match individual skills and limitations.
Familiarization: Mistakes happen in our protected space so that participants can start their job with confidence.
Support during the trial period: Our participants stay in contact with the group and are supported by us to overcome challenges together.

Why donate?

Projects such as “EnableMe” and the German Inclusion Center on betterplace.org show how important and effective such initiatives are for people with disabilities. Your donation will help to ensure that these successes can be continued and expanded. Every little commitment makes a big difference!

Support us now and help us to promote inclusion in Bremen and Bremerhaven. Every donation counts!
