About this project

Merveille KOUATOUKA from Greening Africa Together/Alle Hand in Hand, e.V. is responsible for this project
In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) the high demand for firewood and charcoal are the main causes of deforestation in the country, for this reason we take our responsibilities with the integral ecology project, which as the main objective to achieve a sustainable development that will hepl us to meet our current needs without compromising the well-being of future generations. The reforestation is our first step to save our ecosystem, we will plant trees in open spaces of different schools but also in other spaces that we have in two cities of DRC: Kinshasa( the capital city) and Kananga.

In the occasion of the national tree day celebrated every December 5th in DRC, we often explain the importance of trees and why it's important to stop cutting down trees to our communities, we realize that most of them didn't know the importance of trees before. We insist a lot with the awareness to our young student because we believe that if we educate young people we are educating an entire generation. Young people are the present and the future and we hope that they will not repeat the mistakes of the adults.

Together with adults and young students we are going to plant acacias but also some fruit trees in the open spaces that we have in the city and in different schools. Then people can benefit from fruits (mangos and avocado) but also clean air, we also encorage families to plant at least one tree if they have space in their home.

Why do we ask for your donations?

We ask for your donation because we have large spaces were we can plant trees and in those large spaces there are several needs, the details are below. Your donation will contribute to save our Planet and to bring a smile to Mother Earth who is crying, our Common Home is burning.
Transparency is very important to us, you will be informed about everything in all details through this page and news, so you can know how we spend the money you donate. You will also receive your receipts for the donations made which make a difference!

Alternative solution:

To make this project more realistic, we have alternative solutions for our communities such as the use of ecological coal made from dry waste and also biogas made from organic waste. Our people will be trained and supported by experts on healthy production methods of ecological coal and biogas to avoid any health and environmental issues. We have spoken with the responsible of different schools to include that in the school curriculum in harmony with the lessons that have already been planned.

Then step by step, we will also do the same in an other Congo: the Republic of Congo, but let's start with the case of DRC!
