Make Berlin safe, friendly and carbon neutral!

PLAN B 2030 is an NGO formed in 2024 by activist Lu Yen Roloff.  We connect and empower Berliners to take meaningful, manageable climate action.

Household emissions are 60% of Berlin's total emissions. Reducing these makes true impact without waiting for glacially paced macro changes. Capital of the world's fourth richest nation, from peace-building to techno, Berlin is a global pioneer. We also have the potential to model a climate vision others can emulate. 

In 2024, we:
- reached 300+ Berliners with 50+ balcony solar parties
- helped 1,000+ households install solar - with our support, many paid zero and lowered bills
- helped people claim €10,000 in energy efficiency discounts
- invested €20,000 in developing a localised GemeinsamKiez concept, modeled on the US's Cool Blocks program

In 2025 we are:
- far from finished! Our goal is 240,000 balcony power plants, the critical mass to make solar the new normal
- building an app to help people assess their balcony's solar potential, setting up bulk orders, and collaborating with partners to make it easier for tenants to install solar, including the State of Berlin, SolarCity and Global Goals eV.
- aiming to launch 25 GemeinsamKiez groups

We cannot increase impact without investment. Our first year was mostly funded by a large philanthropic gift. To ensure our viability in 2025-2030 (Paris Agreement clock is ticking!) we need support from Berliners like you.  Any amount helps - thank you!
