About this project

We are seeing an increasing number of patients in our hospital. The number of malnourished children in particular is increasing significantly. This is because there is not enough food in the region to feed over 2.2 million people. People have been suffering from hunger for months.
In November 2023, we expanded our ward for malnourished children at the hospital.
Malnutrition weakens children's immune systems, making them susceptible to serious infections and disrupting their ability to keep their own bodies warm. Without medical help and basic care, they are exposed to life-threatening conditions. Several beds are now available for intensive care so that the focus is entirely on the young patients. Specially trained medical staff are deployed here. The relevant training was provided by our seconded medical staff.
Our nurses look after the children with a coordinated nutrition plan. They are initially given highly concentrated food pastes very carefully. This gives them all the nutrients they need and allows them to slowly get used to the food. The girls and boys are regularly weighed and medically examined in a separate monitoring room. This intensive care is so important to ensure that the children develop in the best possible way.
We urgently need donations to be able to continue running the ward for malnourished children. Any support will help us to maintain medical care and save even more children's lives.
Help us to give these children a chance.
