n 2025, we will host the fourth Africa's Biggest Cleanup to help clean the beaches of Africa. Last year, over 1,300 volunteers from Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Madagascar came together to clean up our coastlines on World Cleanup Day. We want to make an even bigger difference this year!
Our 2024 Results: Thanks to our hardworking teams and the support of our partners, Mueller and folia, we collected over 15 tons of waste from the beaches. This stopped the trash from polluting our oceans. Our partners, who use less plastic in their packaging, helped make this event successful.
Here are some of the amazing results from last year:
- Tanzania: 647 volunteers collected 10,122 kg of waste.
- Kenya: 390 volunteers cleaned 700 kg from Mvureni Beach.
- Nigeria: 56 volunteers removed 918 kg of waste.
- Cameroon: 29 volunteers collected 2,199 kg of waste despite bad weather.
- Madagascar: 100 volunteers cleared 300 kg of waste.
- Ghana: 86 volunteers gathered 150 kg of waste.
These numbers show how much we can do when we work together. Our cleanup not only made the beaches cleaner but also inspired local communities to care about the environment.
Children: Our Future We also hosted an upcycling workshop in a school in Tanzania, where 300 children learned about plastics and how to turn waste into useful items. Folia provided materials for this fun activity, helping children learn how to protect the environment in a creative way.
