When people go missing in difficult terrain, every minute counts. In these critical moments, our specially trained search dogs are deployed – they are trained to quickly search large areas and reach even the most inaccessible locations. Whether in dense forests, moors, or vast fields, our dogs can find those who otherwise would have little chance of receiving help in time.
Our dogs are not only vital in mountainous or remote areas but also play a life-saving role in missing person cases in Northern Germany. Elderly people, hikers, or children who have lost their way rely on the incredible noses of our dogs. While helicopters and drones are often hindered by dense vegetation, our search dogs silently navigate through the terrain and lead us to where help is needed.
The training of a search dog takes two to three years. The dog and handler work as a team, investing countless hours in intensive training, theoretical lessons, and regular exams. Every year, they must demonstrate their skills again in challenging deployments to ensure they always operate at the highest level. This guarantees that our teams are always ready to respond and help in emergencies.
Our search dog handlers and team leaders volunteer their time, committing to extensive training and preparation for operations – often at personal risk. Once the alarm sounds, we are ready, with our four-legged partners guiding us to those in desperate need.
Thanks to your donations, we can continue our successful missions and fund essential equipment for both dog and handler. Your support allows us to keep operating at the highest level and continue saving lives. Help us help others – your donation saves lives!
