Interview mit Tanja Bauer, Ehrenamtskoordinatorin Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach

Wir freuen uns, euch das nächste Interview der EMBA-2025-Studentinnen und Studenten der Mannheim Business School mit Tanja Bauer, Ehrenamtskoordinatorin in der Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach, präsentieren zu dürfen.

Liebe Frau Bauer, welche Rolle spielt die Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach bei diesem Projekt und welche Erfahrungen bringen Sie in die Umsetzung ein?

Der Bau des neuen Wohnangebots für Kinder und Jugendliche in St. Leon-Rot resultiert aus dem signalisierten Bedarf für ein solches zusätzliches Wohnangebot für junge Menschen mit Unterstützungsbedarf im Rhein-Neckar-Kreis. Diesen Menschen möchte die Johannes-Diakonie ein neues Zuhause geben, sie beim Erwachsenwerden begleiten und den speziellen Bedürfnissen gerecht werden können. Als Ehrenamtskoordinatorin der Johannes-Diakonie kann ich die Arbeit der Mitarbeitenden unterstützen, indem ich ehrenamtliche Helferinnen und Helfer finde und begleite, die die Lebensqualität der künftigen Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner durch ihre „helfenden Hände“ auf vielfältige und sehr wertvolle Art und Weise verbessern, wie hier, im neuen Wohnangebot für Kinder und Jugendliche in St. Leon-Rot.

Was bewegt Sie persönlich dazu, dieses Projekt mit so großem Engagement zu unterstützen?

Jeder Mensch und jedes Kind mit Unterstützungsbedarf hat das Recht auf Teilhabe an der Gemeinschaft und am gesellschaftlichen Leben. Als Mutter zweier erwachsener Töchter weiß ich, wie wichtig ein Zuhause und eine liebevolle und individuelle Begleitung im Kindes- und Jugendalter ist. Diese Kinder mit Beeinträchtigung durch meine Möglichkeiten als Ehrenamtskoordinatorin zu unterstützen, ist eine sehr wertvolle und sinnstiftende Aufgabe.

Die EMBA-2025-Studentinnen und Studenten der Mannheim Business School unterstützen das Projekt. Was bedeutet diese Unterstützung für die Johannes-Diakonie und das Projekt selbst?

Wir sind stolz und sehr dankbar, mit dem EMBA-2025-Team tolle Menschen und Ehrenamtliche für das Projekt gefunden zu haben. Die Begeisterung und die schöne Zusammenarbeit mit dem Orga-Team rund um Stephanie Salomon und Arif Abdullah bei der Planung der notwendigen Maßnahmen und verschiedenen Arbeitsschritte, der Organisation und Umsetzung der Freiwilligentage, die professionelle Öffentlichkeitsarbeit von Kathrin Hauck und dem gesamten Team bei der Projektgestaltung und die tatkräftige Durchführung der beiden Freiwilligentage durch die Hilfe jedes Einzelnen des EMBA-Teams waren und sind wirkliche Highlights. Gemeinsam wurde viel geschafft, aber auch viel gelacht.

Inwiefern ist die Zusammenarbeit mit den Studentinnen und Studenten für Sie besonders wertvoll? Welche Vorteile bringt die Kooperation mit sich?

Bei der Durchführung der Freiwilligenaktionen wurde nicht nur gemeinsam angepackt und zusammen im Team gearbeitet, um wirklich tolle Ergebnisse zu erzielen. Die Studentinnen und Studenten lernten durch die Interaktionen unsere Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner und die Mitarbeitenden der beiden Wohnangebote in St. Leon-Rot kennen. Diese Menschen mit ihren unterschiedlichen Ausgangslagen zusammenzubringen, den Blick aus dem Alltag über den Tellerrand hinweg in das Leben der Menschen mit Behinderung und die Arbeit der Mitarbeitenden in der Behindertenhilfe zu ermöglichen, ist ebenfalls meine Mission.

Wie können sich auch andere Menschen, neben finanziellen Spenden, für das Projekt engagieren? Gibt es Möglichkeiten für ehrenamtliche Mitarbeit oder andere Formen der Unterstützung?

Neben der sehr wichtigen finanziellen Unterstützung möchten wir weitere helfende Hände aktivieren, Türen öffnen, vernetzen, Kooperationen finden, um so die Menschen mit und ohne Beeinträchtigung zusammenbringen. Helfende Hände, die unsere jungen Menschen bei Freizeitaktivitäten oder beim Lernen begleiten oder z.B. bei Festen und Veranstaltungen aktiv unterstützen. Wir möchten Menschen, Vereine und Institutionen finden, die ihre Türe öffnen, um unsere Menschen mit Beeinträchtigung willkommen zu heißen, die Teilhabe am gesellschaftlichen Leben ermöglichen, um damit eine inklusive Gemeinschaft zu formen.

Gemeinsam mit den Engagierten im Ehrenamt möchten wir stark für Menschen sein!

Was möchten Sie den Menschen, die dieses Interview lesen oder hören, mit auf den Weg geben? Warum sollten sie das Projekt "Ein Licht in Ihrem Leben" unterstützen?

Aktuell gibt es viele Themen in der Weltpolitik, aber auch Entwicklungen unserer Gesellschaft in Deutschland, die mich sehr nachdenklich machen und auch traurig stimmen. Vieles kann ich hiervon als einzelne Person unter vielen nicht unmittelbar beeinflussen, aber sehr wohl das Schicksal und Leben der Menschen in meinem Umfeld und Wirkungskreis, die Unterstützung und Hilfe benötigen. Diese Kinder in St. Leon-Rot haben das Recht auf ein glückliches und selbstbestimmtes Leben. Sie beim Ankommen und in ihrer Entwicklung mit meinen Möglichkeiten zu fördern und sinnstiftend zu begleiten, soll nicht nur mein Beitrag sein, sondern auch andere animieren „ein Licht in Ihrem Leben“ zu werden.

Dear Mrs. Bauer, what role does the Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach play in this project and what experience do you bring to its implementation?

The construction of the new housing for children and adolescents in St. Leon-Rot results from the signaled need for such additional housing for young people with support needs in the Rhine-Neckar district. The Johannes-Diakonie wants to give these people a new home, accompany them in growing up and be able to meet their special needs. As a volunteer coordinator at the Johannes-Diakonie, I can support the work of the employees by finding and accompanying volunteers who improve the quality of life of future residents through their "helping hands" in a diverse and very valuable way, as here in the new housing for children and adolescents in St. Leon-Rot.

What motivates you personally to support this project with such great commitment?

Every person and every child with support needs has the right to participate in the community and in social life. As a mother of two adult daughters, I know how important home and loving, individualized support are in childhood and adolescence. Supporting these children with disabilities through my opportunities as a volunteer coordinator is a very valuable and meaningful task.

The EMBA-2025 students of the Mannheim Business School support the project. What does this support mean for the Johannes-Diakonie and the project?

We are proud, happy and very grateful to have found such great people and volunteers for the project with the EMBA-2025 team. The enthusiasm and the wonderful cooperation with the organization team around Stephanie Salomon and Arif Abdullah in planning the necessary measures and various work steps, the organization and implementation of the volunteer days, the professional public relations work of Kathrin Hauck and the entire team in project design and the active implementation of the two volunteer days through the help of every one of the EMBA team were and are real highlights. Together, a lot was achieved but also a lot of laughter.

To what extent is the cooperation with the students particularly valuable for you? What advantages does the cooperation bring with it?

During the implementation of the volunteer activities, we not only tackled things together and worked together as a team to achieve really great results. The students got to know our residents and the employees of the two housing facilities in St. Leon-Rot through the interactions. To bring these people with their different starting points together, to enable a look out of everyday life beyond the box into the lives of people with disabilities and the work of the employees in the disability assistance is also my mission.

How can other people, in addition to financial donations, get involved in the project? Are there opportunities for volunteering or other forms of support?

In addition to the very important financial support, we want to activate more helping hands, open doors, network, find cooperations to bring people with and without disabilities together. Helping hands that accompany our young people in leisure activities or learning, or actively support them at festivals and events, for example. We want to find people, clubs and institutions that open their doors to welcome our people with disabilities, enable participation in social life and thus form an inclusive community.

Together with the volunteers, we want to be "strong for people”!

What would you like to give to the people who read or listen to this interview? Why should they support the project "A light in your life"?

There are currently many topics in world politics, but also developments in our society in Germany, which make me very thoughtful and also sad. There is much that I cannot directly influence as an individual among many, but very well the fate and lives of the people in my environment and sphere of influence who need support and help. These children in St. Leon-Rot have the right to a happy and self-determined life. To support them in arriving and in their development with my possibilities and to accompany them in a meaningful way should not only be my contribution, but also encourage others to become "a light in their lives".
