    About this project

Birgit Koch-Dallendörfer from Internationale Nothilfe e.V. (IEH) is responsible for this project
Since 27 November, thousands upon thousands of families in Syria have been forced to flee their homes in Aleppo and the Afrin/Shahba region, leaving everything behind them, in a bid to save their lives. They are fleeing from the so-called ‘Hayat Tahrir al Sham’ (HTS), which is designated as a terrorist organisation by the UN, and the pro-Turkish ‘Syrian National Army’ (SNA). In the Shahba region, 200,000 people have been forced to flee from death, rape, abuse and slavery. They are fleeing to the safe areas of the Autonomous Administration of North East Syria. With winter approaching, the refugees urgently need tents, cooking equipment, stoves, etc. The people arriving these days need shelter, food, hygiene products, sleeping mats and blankets.
Therefore, tent accommodation with appropriate infrastructure should be urgently created for the refugees in Tabqa, at the Euphrates reservoir, and the supply of food and medical aid should be set up. The IEH has been helping in Northeast Syria for a long time and has local networks. The IEH can start the aid project in the shortest possible time. We work on a voluntary basis, without significant institutional administrative costs. The IEH does not have significant funds of its own. The NGO works solely on a donation basis or with a corresponding percentage of funding from the project sponsors. The scope and duration of the emergency aid depends on demand and donations. It should initially be guaranteed for three months.
