Dear animal lovers, sports enthusiasts (and those who want to become one ;))
Our shelters in Sri Lanka (https://tierheim-sri-lanka.de) and Sumatra (https://www.sumatradogsandcats.de) are lovingly caring for a total of 254 dogs and 125 cats (and counting!). These animals live either directly in the shelter, on the street or in foster families where they are safe and cared for.
However, we currently do not know how we are going to cover all the costs and our shelters are on the verge of closing!
In order to provide our animals with sufficient food and care all year round, we need around €65,000 per year. This sum covers the cost of high-quality food and makes a significant contribution to keeping the shelters alive!
A special highlight of our fundraising campaign: Saskia, a dedicated supporter, will be running the Camino del Norte in May 2025 to generate donations for our animals.
The Camino del Norte runs from Irun to Santiago de Compostela and is around 840 kilometres long. We need a donation of €77.38 per kilometre to reach our annual target.
This is an impressive challenge and we are still looking for sponsors to support Saskia's run and thus our animal welfare projects.
At the end of our campaign, when Saskia has arrived in Santiago, we will raffle off a few surprises among all donors.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps us to provide the animals with everything they need and to save our shelters!
Together we can make a big difference and sustainably improve the lives of these animals!
