In accordance with our statutes, SMA Europe undertakes, among others, to support, stimulate, and promote patient-relevant research, drug development and clinical trials. In this particular case, the funds we will receive through Betterplace.org will help keep our Call for Research sustainable and cover, partially, the costs of the coordinating team. Without them, it's impossible to keep the call going, and without our Call for Research, no other European organisation will fund research on spinal muscular atrophy.
