About this project

B. Kaiser from Leseohren e.V. - Das Stuttgarter Vorleseprojekt is responsible for this project
Since 1985, the Day of Volunteering has drawn attention to the importance of volunteering for the cohesion of society. Volunteering is particularly important in Baden-Württemberg, which has the highest rate of volunteering in the state.

Leseohren e.V. would therefore like to inspire young people to take on voluntary work. Under the motto "EhrenWort: Vorlesen verbindet Generationen" (EhrenWort: Reading connects generations), young people are to slip into the role of reading mentors and read aloud to children on Volunteer Day. In this way, they gain positive experience in volunteering. „EhrenWort“ will take place at community schools in Stuttgart. Here, several age groups, children and young people, learn under one roof. The event will be rounded off with a workshop program on topics relating to voice and reading aloud to prepare the young people for their work and add further educational value to the event. A goodie bag ensures that the event will be remembered for a long time to come.

"EhrenWort" should therefore have an impact on four levels:

  • Young people:
Awareness of volunteering should be raised among the young people taking part. The positive experience of interacting with the children should encourage them to volunteer in the future. The young people also gain skills in connection with reading.
  • Children: The young people become reading role models for the children and thus create a special incentive to want to learn to read themselves. The positive and exciting experience of "EhrenWort" thus contributes to the children's motivation to read.
  • School community: The project strengthens the community of the participating schools. The children and young people will meet again and again on the school grounds and be reminded of the positive reading experience. The crowdfunding campaign increases the identification of people in the school environment with the school.
  • Publicity: The event is a great opportunity to draw attention to the important work of Leseohren e.V..

With your help, we can not only promote children's reading skills and self-confidence, but also inspire a new generation of volunteers. Support "EhrenWort" and make a difference in the community!
