Help us equip our school in Uganda and get it ready for opening in 01/2025. For this we need your support. Many small projects need to be finished, before we can get a licence from the District Ibanda to run the school. Together we can do it!
We are building a new primary school with our local partner association "St. Andrews school project for the young" in Ibanda. We successfully completed our first construction project at the end of June 2023 thanks to you. The first floor of the school building and the sanitary facilities have been built, and we procured furniture for the classrooms and a water tank. During this phase, we were supported by the foundation "Stiftung Nord-Süd-Brücken", the Saxon state parliament, as well as many small and large donations made by you.
Unfortunately, we are not yet able to open the school. The equipment still needs to be improved in order to obtain approval/licence from the district. Due to the inflation, building prices rose quite a bit, which means that we could not achieve everything originally planned with the old budget. St Andrews has already continued building with their own funds and was able to fit the windows of the office, where all the furniture is currently stored, with glass.
The school year in Uganda officially starts at the end of January. We are now working at full speed to finalise all the small projects. The aim is to obtain the operating licence and provide a pleasant learning atmosphere for the students (without the feeling of sitting in the middle of a building site).
Support us and become part of the project! Every little bit counts. Join us! Let's open the school together.
We will keep you up to date on the progress in the blog. All donations will be used 100% for the purpose.
