    About this project

Julia Dyllong from Auroville International Deutschland e.V. is responsible for this project
Thank you for your interest in my project, here you will find an overview of all the important information:

    What is Auroville?
Auroville is a city in the south-east of India in the state of Tamil Nadu. The international planned city was founded in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa. Her aim was to create a city in which people of all nations could live together in harmony, regardless of their culture or religion.

Auroville focuses on sustainability, ecological projects and holistic education. The city can already boast numerous successes, which are reflected in the reforestation of the Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest, the associated preservation of biodiversity and many artistic projects, such as the Upcycling Studio.

Would you like to find out more about the city? Then visit the official website of Auroville: (https://auroville.org/).

An upcycling project as a commitment to development policy:
The idea of upcycling is to transform waste into unique art objects and useful commodities. Environmental pollution and waste are a global problem that we have to deal with. Creative recycling of waste is an important key to the solution.

In the Upcycling Studio, for example, plastic bottles are turned into jewelry, Tetra Paks into chairs and glass bottles into lampshades. Starting in August, I will be working on innovative projects within the project team and also spreading the idea of upcycling in workshops.

You can find more information about my project here: (https://startupcycling.auroville.org/).

    Who I am:
My name is Julia, I am 19 years old and I have just graduated from high school in Bad Honnef, near Bonn.

If you would like to join me on my journey, you will find regular updates on the Auroblog (https://auroblog.de/) from August onwards. I look forward to you stopping by!

    How you can support me:
My stay in Auroville and my contribution to this project need to be funded. To support Mirra Alfassa's vision through our development volunteer service, I am collecting a total of €2,500 in donations until August 22, 2024. This will support my delegation to Auroville and the Upcycling Studio.

I look forward to any interested inquiries about the city or my project. Of course, I am also very happy if you support my year with a donation.

Thank you for your support - every donation counts!
