About this project

Sophia Burton from Migration Matters e.V. is responsible for this project
In a time when right-wing and anti-democratic sentiments are increasingly influencing public discourse, it is more crucial than ever to educate the next generation on issues of diversity and migration. Migration Matters e.V. offers a vital educational initiative for high school students in Berlin and Brandenburg through our project, "Research Meets School: New Perspectives on Migration and Integration." These comprehensive workshops are designed to enhance students' understanding of complex migration and diversity issues and promote nuanced discourse.

Students aged 14 to 18 engage with critical topics through Migration Matters' specially produced videos, followed by expert-led discussions and interactive activities. These sessions are crafted to stimulate thoughtful conversation, encourage diverse perspectives, and promote understanding from those with lived migration experiences. Each 2-4 hour workshop is developed in collaboration with educators to fit into a dedicated project day or a standard classroom schedule, ensuring significant educational impact.

Your support is vital to the continuation of this project!

By donating to this project, you help us expand our reach to more schools and students, providing them with tools to navigate and understand nuanced migration realities. You also allow us to continue developing lesson plans and materials that are made freely available on our website for others to adapt and use!

Your support enables us to continue fostering inclusive and resilient communities through education. Invest in the next generation by funding these vital workshops, making a direct impact by facilitating informed discussions on migration, promoting diversity, and building a foundation for lifelong empathy and social awareness among young individuals.
