About this project
https://suelte.de/projekte/ Goal: To build a small hydroelectric power plant to generate electricity for a training center in Papua New Guinea. Problem statement: In addition to reading and writing lessons, dealing with HIV, and courses in weaving and braiding techniques, the Pondi Community Center also hosts many meetings of local groups. When it gets dark at 6 p.m., you need light to continue learning. Until now, the electricity came from an aging diesel generator. Our aim is to replace it with a hydroelectric generator, because there is enough water in the highlands of New Guinea! Solution: Water from the nearby stream is channeled through a ditch into a collecting basin. The overflow water drives a power generator that can provide about 10 kW of electricity. What is needed: Building materials for the collecting basin and the pipe system, the conversion of the diesel generator into a water-powered power generator and the electrical system must be funded. The majority of the work is carried out on a voluntary basis; some things require specialized craftsmen who need to be paid. How high is the donation requirement? We expect a need of 5000.00 euros. Any solar system would be more expensive.
