This month, Paréa Lesvos - our Community Center for People on the Move on the Greek island of Lesvos - is celebrating its second birthday. Over the past two years, we welcomed thousands of people - men, women and children - and provided them with essential services including food, clothes and hygiene items, legal and psychosocial support, together with our partner organizations. But Pareá is more than just a community center: it is a place of defending basic human rights and creating a more just, equal and positive world!
While we faced many challenges, the ongoing support of people from all over the world - contributing their time and skills as well as financial donations - has made our mission possible until here and we were able to continuously meet the growing demands we face in our community center.
However, since we are evolving and growing into a professional organization, we need stable fundings to secure a sustainable development of our organization and ingrain Paréa as a safe space with 11 partner organizations on Lesvos permanently. The increasingly complex political situation, the lack of (media) attention and the multiple ongoing crises in different regions of the world make a stable funding base for the development of our organization more crucial than ever before. Would you like to join our movement of solidarity and become an integral part of Paréa?
Become a supporting member and gift Paréa another year of solidarity:
Your monthly donation - no matter how small - provides us with the stability and predictability needed to plan effectively, ensuring sustained assistance to those who need it most. With the possibility of planning ahead, we can not only maintain the services already offered in Paréa for another year but also develop them further based on the ever- changing needs of the community to celebrate many more birthday parties in Paréa.
Paréa serves as a beacon of hope for individuals and families navigating the challenges of displacement. It is not just a place: it's an example of the strength of collective action and the impact we can make when we come together.
Become an ally and join our community for another year of solidarity.
