About this project

Claudia Suessmuth Dyckerhoff from Kinderhilfe Kambodscha e.V. is responsible for this project
Since 2003, our association 'Kinderhilfe Kambodscha (KKeV)' has been active in Phnom Penh, where it runs a children's village for 100 children aged between 2 and 20 with an experienced local team.

The children come from very poor backgrounds, have experienced the loss of one or both parents, neglect, violence, abuse, child labor and/or illness and find a permanent, safe and loving home in the children's village. The children attend public schools. Due to their difficult social backgrounds, they need targeted support to complete their schooling and training or, in some cases, to go to university. In the Children's Village, they are supported and encouraged both in and out of school so that they leave the Children's Village as young adults who can live independently.

In addition to the children's village, KKeV runs a street children's program in a neighbouring community for 120 school-aged children, as it is very difficult for many children from poor backgrounds to complete school and get an education. For these children, attending school is often an unattainable dream, as instead of going to school regularly, they have to work to ensure their families' survival.

All of this is only possible thanks to your generous support. Your donations make it possible to provide for 100 children in the children's village and 120 school-age children in the street children program:

  • 133 € per month / 1.600 € per year is the cost of basic care for a child in the children's village. This includes accommodation, food, clothing, school fees and materials, additional school support, medical care, leisure activities and vocational training after leaving school.
  • 33 € per month / 390 € per year secures a place in the street children's program. This includes school materials and uniforms, remedial lessons in mathematics and Khmer, support with school development, a daily meal and basic medical care. The programme also organizes a small party every year to celebrate Khmer New Year.
  • If you would like to make a regular donation - be it for a place in the children's village or in the street children program - we would be delighted if you would set up a standing order.
KKeV's work does not end when the children finish school. Each of the children should be able to lead a self-determined life later on. That is why we support them in acquiring professional qualifications after school and help them to find work that secures them a regular income.

The entire annual budget of KKeV for the upkeep of the children, the salaries of the employees in the areas of education, administration, kitchen, building and garden and for investments is raised from donations, sponsorships and funding.
