    About this project

Dr. Eva Sturm from Cellex Stiftung is responsible for this project
The large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Since then, Russia has been waging a brutal war of aggression that has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people on the Ukrainian side. Soldiers, old people, women and children have died. February 24 is a day of remembrance for the victims. We remember the dead and the suffering of the displaced, the wounded, the abducted children and their families as well as the raped women.

For the Ukrainians in Dresden, the anniversary of the war of aggression is also a reminder of the solidarity shown to them in Germany, in Dresden and in many democratic countries around the world. They would like to thank the German government, the authorities, the city of Dresden and the countless individuals and initiatives who are helping to make their lives in a foreign country easier with donations, comfort, advice and action.

The extent of the solidarity shown by Germany is enormous. Even if the solidarity has already lasted two years: It must not let up. That would play into the hands of the war criminal Putin and further fuel his imperialist intentions. As Germans, we are also supporting Ukraine in our own interests, because Ukraine's defensive struggle is also about our freedom, our values and peace in Europe. Putin must not be allowed to win this war.

Let us stand together at a commemorative event on the 2nd anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine:

    Saturday, February 24
    3:00 PM
    at Dresden Neumarkt.

We kindly ask you to financially support two projects in Ukraine selected by our partners Ukrainian Coordination Center and Support Point Ukraine.
