About this project

M. Schwarz from MOYO - Ansbach für Malawi e.V. is responsible for this project
Help for Nkondezi Primary School in Malawi: Bringing Water to 1,148 Students

In the remote Nkondezi Primary School, located in the Mulanje District of Malawi, the community faces a significant challenge: the only nearby well produces saline water. This forces the students to bring their own drinking water from home and water for daily hygiene and cooking school meals. A laborious and unsustainable solution.

However, there is hope: just three kilometers away, there is a freshwater source. The community is willing to actively participate in solving this problem. They have committed to manually digging a trench for a water pipeline from the source to the school. What they lack are the necessary materials.

This is where you come in: With a donation of 10,000 €, we can acquire the required materials to ensure clean drinking water for all 1,148 students from grades 1 to 8. Your support can fundamentally improve the daily lives of these children, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: their education.

Every donation counts - help us make this life-changing difference!

The project aims to secure a sustainable water supply for the Nkondezi Primary School in the Mulanje District of Malawi. A total of €10,000 is needed, allocated to the following areas:

  1. Connection Costs: A portion of the budget is allocated for connection work. This includes technical measures to connect the new pipelines to a water point located at a distance.
  2. Piping: A significant part of the funds is allocated for purchasing the pipes. These pipes must be robust and durable to ensure continuous supply and withstand conditions in Malawi.
  3. Faucet and Accessories: The installation of a faucet at the school, including all necessary connections and safety devices, is planned to ensure safe usage.
The local community's contribution is crucial: They will lay the pipes, including digging a 3-kilometer trench from the water source to the school. This community participation is a central aspect of the project as it saves costs and strengthens the local community.

With an investment of €10,000, the project significantly improves the water supply and enhances community spirit and self-responsibility in the region.
