Dein Festmahl 2024 - An Evening for the Needy in Bremen

Every year Dein Festmahl e.V. invites over 1.000 needy people from Bremen to a Christmas afternoon. Our guests are homeless people, senior citizens, single parents, children and young people. In the run-up to Christmas, we want to give them the chance to throw the worries of everyday life overboard for one day.

What does it mean? On December 17th, 2024, more than 800 needy people are invited by us to come to the exhibition hall in Bremen. In a Christmas atmosphere, there will be an all-round package for our guests: there will be doctors, hairdressers, veterinarians and a stage program with well-known artists. At decorated tables our guests will be looked after by many volunteers. There will be non-alcoholic drinks, a Christmas menu and coffee. Volunteers and celebrities take care of the well-being of our guests, have an open ear for everyone.

And because there are always gifts at Christmas, we can't do without them. More than 1.000 gift bags are packed for this purpose. In the bags you can find everyday things (hygiene articles, food, etc.). There is a clothing exchange with knitwear and second-hand clothing, there is a book table and toys for children.

The core team consists of 9 people who have come together to make this evening possible. In addition, there are organizations that support us, such as the DRK Bremen, Weser Kurier Weihnachtshilfe, Bremer Suppenengel, Bremer Tafel, Caritas Bremen and the Innere Mission. We are supported by over 250 volunteers who help with set-up and take-down, bag packing, serving and organization.

With the donations we finance material support for homeless and needy people. This can be sealable bowls, toys for children or even sleeping bags. Everything that helps people in difficult situations.
