About this project

Nicholas Banneke from Inception e.V. is responsible for this project
Inception e.V. is committed to sustainability, climate and environmental protection, children's and youth education, and regional reforestation in Uganda. We empower communities with the knowledge and means to independently plant trees, enhancing their living conditions.

To expand the impact of the Schools Tree and Climate Project in Uganda, we seek support in establishing a new office in Mbale. The project aims to make a positive impact on the environment and the lives of local residents through reforestation, environmental conservation, and community empowerment. By involving schools and communities, we aim to create a network that drives change and achieves sustainable outcomes.

Through environmental education, students and teachers acquire the knowledge and tools to actively participate in environmental protection, understanding the significance of trees in mitigating climate change and benefiting local ecosystems and communities.

Engaging communities raises awareness about reforestation and environmental conservation, fostering a sense of ownership and collective responsibility. This improves livelihoods by providing increased food supply, shade, protection, and reduced risks of landslides.

The opening of a new branch in Mbale is crucial due to severe deforestation in the region, leading to environmental challenges such as droughts and floods. Focusing our efforts in Mbale allows us to address these challenges directly, enhance living conditions, and contribute to reducing CO2 emissions.

To open the office, we'll lease a property, acquire materials (motorcycles, laptops, phones, shovels, seeds, planting materials), and hire staff. New staff will be trained at our office in Jinja, opened two years ago, by the local project partner.

Our chosen project partner, Nambule Isaac, raised in Mbale, has built a significant network with community leaders and school directors. Currently, he eagerly awaits sufficient funding to support his climate-affected region.

Timeline:
By May 2024:
- Lease an office
- Hire and train staff
- Acquire materials (motorcycles, laptop, phones, shovels, seeds, planting material)
By August 2024:
- Teach in up to 25 schools with around 1,250 children
- Plant approximately 20,000 fruit trees.

In the medium term, we aim to expand our influence to 100 schools and communities by 2025. Long-term goals include sustainable strengthening of environmental awareness within the region and opportunities for reforesting mixed forests.

All donated funds (100%) will be allocated to the establishment and operation of the new office in Mbale, Uganda. This includes rent, salaries, motorcycles/fuel, and planting material. Your support enables sustainable environmental protection and education in Uganda.
