LED floodlight for our DJK

Our DJK St. Ingbert 1923 e.V. would like to replace the two floodlight systems on the grass and hard pitches. New LED floodlights in accordance with DIN12193 Class III will be installed.

Why is it necessary to replace the current floodlights?
The current floodlights are getting on in years and have been in operation for a good 30 years. One of the main reasons for replacing them is the energy aspect and the associated electricity costs for the club. With rising electricity costs, the costs represent a major challenge for our club.
Furthermore, the floodlight system on the grass pitch has been failing more and more frequently in bad weather, meaning that it has not been possible to play our beloved sport at times. This means that it is not guaranteed that the pitch can be used safely.

Who benefits from this?
Our club wants to position itself for the future and give our more than 500 members the opportunity to use our sports facilities in the coming years, even in dark conditions. Our more than 20 teams are 100% dependent on our floodlights during the cold months. This benefits the club and its members.

Procedure, steps and parties involved:
Our Management has been in close contact with the company for several months regarding the implementation of the modernization. In addition, a financing presentation was drawn up together with the town of St. Ingbert.
Together with the funding from the Sports Planning Commission and the ZuG federal funding, a financing presentation was drawn up on the basis of an existing offer.
The retrofit provides for a complete replacement of the existing technology and the old bulbs. The existing 12 masts will be equipped with modern technology, including radio dimming for individual and group switching.

This financing presentation provides for our association's own contribution of €6,777.

Timetable:
In principle, all the important and necessary steps have been completed and the measure is due to be implemented in 2025. The current offer is valid until the end of the year and has been accepted.

DJK St. Ingbert 1923 e.V. sees itself as a social anchor in our region. This social anchor includes teaching tolerance, integration, respect and fairness. These values can only be learned and strengthened in direct human interaction and this requires a functioning floodlight system. The positive aspect of saving energy is also considerable and relieves our club's finances.
