More Queer Lexikon

Hey there! We are a German nonprofit mostly focusing on queer youth, and this is our fundraiser for 2024. Most of our work is only available in German, but we've translated the following for the non-german speakers that would like to donate to us.

The Queer Lexikon would like to have a future - and a future costs money.
We've grown a lot in these last couple of years. There are two online chat groups, we've made a map of German-speaking youth groups, and we've managed to send over 100 kilograms of brochures to counseling offices and youth centers. The Queer Lexikon has over 20 active members at this point. Things are good.

And things should remain good. We don't want to reinvent our work. And for the foreseeable future, we don't plan any big new projects. We want to continue doing what we have started. And we want to get even better at that. But most of all: We want to do the things we are good at. Educating, and supporting (young) queer people. For example with over 1000 answers in our anonymous askbox.

It's just that this requires funds, and that's often boring and tenacious: server and IT stuff, lawyers and tax consultants, fees for banks and payment providers, printing of new brochures, shipping fees. We want to continue educating and improving the skills of our team, be visible at pride parades, supervision, and organizational development.

And we want to improve: not just printing more brochures, but keeping them up-to-date. Migrate our flyer and brochure ordering into a new system that helps us be more effective. Making our website more accessible, and more reliable. Recording read-out versions of our blog posts, so you can listen to them. Adding counseling offices and notices for accessibility to our map.
