    About this project

Robert Trippler from Monumentas gUG (haftungsbeschränkt) is responsible for this project
In the midst  Schlepzig in the Spreewald, stands a testament to bygone times – a charming half-timbered house that, despite its long history and the adversities of recent years, has maintained its pride and beauty. However, like many historical buildings, this house suffered from the greed of investors who neglected it for years, hoping it would succumb to decay. But the half-timbered house resolutely defied the elements and neglect, remaining a quiet symbol of steadfastness and history.

The time to save it and restore its former glory has now come. Under the protection of monument preservation, we wish to initiate the necessary steps to restore this historical landmark for future generations. However, before the start of restoration work, important preparatory measures are necessary.

A central aspect of the preparations is the creation of a wood protection report. This expertise will give us detailed insights into the condition of the wood and determine what measures are necessary to protect it from further damage and repair any damage already occurred. It is essential to understand the structure and integrity of the building before proceeding with further rehabilitation work.

Moreover, the renewal of the roof is on the agenda. A lightweight, weather-resistant roof is essential to protect the house from the elements and ensure the drying of the entire building.

With your help, we can not only preserve a piece of history but also create a space that can be used for cultural, social, and perhaps educational purposes. A place that brings the community together while celebrating the rich history and tradition of our place.

The bureaucratic challenges of monument preservation and the associated costs mean that these two tasks alone will stretch over the coming two to three years. The strict regulations and approval processes are essential to preserve the historical value of the half-timbered house, but they require patient and careful planning. Despite these hurdles, we are firmly committed to investing the necessary time and resources to restore this remarkable building properly and make it usable for the community again.

Please support our project and help us save this wonderful half-timbered house and transform it into a place of gathering and learning. Your donation is an important step to honor the past and shape an inspiring future.
