About this project

Kornelius Scheel from Wholehearted Pictures e.V. is responsible for this project
What is [W]holehearted?

[W]holehearted is a short film project with the goal to reach people with the greatest and most im-portant message in the world - the Gospel. Once completed, the film will be published for free in as many ways as possible to reach as many people as possible and to lead viewers into a living relationship with Christ. It will also be available free of charge for churches, organisations and believers as tool for evangelization work. In addition, we aim to be placed on streaming platforms in order to expand the reach of the message.

To make this film we will work with a team of professional filmmakers, volunteers, actors and organizations. Our continuously growing crew consists, among others, of the experienced DP and cameraman Björn Kowalewsky and his team, as well as the award-winning film music composer Jurgen Beck.

Detailed information about the project and a 10-minute introduction video can be found on our website:

The story in short form

Nick seems to have the life many dream of - he has money and success, a beautiful girlfriend and he’s chasing one adventure after another. But while everything looks so perfect from the outside, the viewer takes a journey to his inside. He observes Nick standing on the surface of his heart and realizes that all his efforts are actually a fight against a terrible problem: There is a small hole in his heart that keeps growing and gradually turning into a large crater. And everything he attempts to plug that hole seems to make the problem worse - until a very special day.

When will [W]holehearted be produced?

After successful financing we plan to start production as soon as possible. We are currently aiming for fall 2024 to start the approximately two-week shoot and then complete the entire film by fall 2025.

Why do we need so much money?

One word in advance – we as producers will not earn a cent for ourselves from the project. The entire budget goes solely into the realization of the film. We would like to do the project on a voluntary basis and solely for the glory of God. But we also want to produce a high-quality film. That's why we plan to work with people who have the necessary experience in these areas for the key tasks. As a rule, these are people who make a living through their work. Therefore, we obviously have to and want to pay these people for their work. A large part of the costs also include location and gear rentals, filming permits, equipment, props and costumes, travel costs for cast and crew, transport costs, meals and post-production, etc..
