About this project

Linda B. from STELP - supporter on site is responsible for this project
Several earthquakes have repeatedly shaken western Afghanistan since Saturday, October 7. The region around Herat, Afghanistan's second largest city, has been particularly affected.

Thousands of people have died in the earthquakes. Countless people have lost their homes and been seriously injured.

Even before the earthquakes, according to the UN's World Food Programme around 15 million people were suffering from hunger, while an estimated 37 million people live in Afghanistan. The earthquakes have further worsened living conditions for the population. Many people have become homeless or now live in tents. In the winter months, it can get as cold as minus twenty degrees in parts of Afghanistan.

Serkan Eren, founder and first chairman of STELP, will travel to Afghanistan again in early November. The mission was planned before the earthquakes. Aid missions in Afghanistan remain extremely dangerous, but possible even under the Taliban. However, they require thorough and lengthy preparation. The goal is to provide food and relief supplies, especially to orphans and widows.

We are asking for donations in order to be able to provide the people on the ground with relief supplies. Every Euro helps - every donation arrives!
