About this project
From our experience we know that the stray dog population results in proportion of 95% from abandonment, and half are migrants from the neighbouring villages. Every month, ca. 150-200 dogs are abandoned in Cluj.
To prevent this, we are going to have several sterilization campaigns in 2013, for stary and owned animals, from the neighbouring villages and in the same time to make a census of these animals.
Dogs will be neutered, microchipped and registeres in a unique register of evidence wich can be the base of implementing the NUCA project of managing the canine population.
Stray and owned dogs will be microchipped and registered. Owners will be handed out an evidence sheet and the information will be listed in the health card of the dog, if provided.
The sterilization campaigns will run over several months, from April to September in Cluj and the surrownding tomns and villages.
The cost of one sterilization is 15 Euro, the nunmer of spayed/neutered animals depends on the financial support we will get.
