Youth work SSV Lok Bernau e.V.

We are one of the largest basketball clubs in Brandenburg. More than 280 children and young people play and train in 20 training groups, from the parent-child group (from 2.5 years) to the young adults of under 18 years. In addition, we offer more than 10 school work groups and four vacation camps per year, also for non-members.
Our goal is to inspire many children for sports and to further expand our offers for popular and competitive sports. For boys under the age of 16, for example, we already offer a performance team in the Jugend Basketball Bundesliga (JBBL) in cooperation with ALBA BERLIN and VfB Hermsdorf, who reached the playoffs in their first season in 19/20 right away. For our strong girls, we are also planning a team in the Female Junior Basketball Bundesliga (WNBL) in the next few years. In this way, the children and young people have role models to emulate. We want to strengthen and gradually expand mass sports, from school clubs to all youth teams.
We can only offer this high-quality youth work thanks to many volunteer coaches, who are supported by two full-time coaches.
We need help in particular with the financing of the trainers, their education and training, and match operations. In match operations, we have to cover travel costs, accommodation and catering costs for tournaments away from home, and costs for referees and judges.
