    About this project

Stefan T. from KINDERHILFE e.V. is responsible for this project
Our network of supporters persuaded us to start a special fundraising campaign: Arne Friedrich brought together KINDERHILFE e.V. and Caritasverband Berlin e.V. with his commitment to the Arne Friedrich Foundation. Our common goal is to draw full attention to children and young people who are suffering from cancer or are seriously ill. Affected families are in an exceptional situation and are dependent on extensive help.
The Caritas children's hospice center LEO and the specialist services of KINDERHILFE e.V. in Berlin and Brandenburg offer contact points. Offers are created here that go beyond the benefits from the social code books and are exclusively financed by donations.
Your donations will continue to make this important work possible and will help children and young people to lead a dignified life with the disease.

With "Together for children" we would like to support the work of the Caritas children's hospice center LEO and the specialist services of KINDERHILFE e.V. in Berlin and Brandenburg. Every euro donated benefits affected children and young people in the facilities and enables group work for seriously ill young people in House Leo, as well as leisure activities offered by KINDERHILFE e.V. for brothers and sisters of children with cancer and seriously ill children.

Group work for seriously ill young people in House Leo
There is a great need for support for seriously ill children and young people who are recovering from an illness. During the long treatment phases, they are isolated and have contact almost exclusively in the clinic and with their families. After being released, they are shaped by the early confrontation with pain, grief and fear of death. Affected children have to deal with their weakness, the changed physical appearance as well as impairments and disabilities. The children and young people need people who will listen to them and support them and with whom they can talk openly about their fears and desires.

    Sibling work of KINDERHILFE e.V.
When children and young people become ill, everyday family life is completely turned upside down. Siblings in particular often unintentionally take a back seat at home, since the parents' energy and strength are focused on the sick child. There often seems to be no more room for the worries and wishes of brothers and sisters, and they don't want to burden the parents any further. This is where the offers of KINDERHILFE e.V. come in. In the thematic group work and on excursions, the focus is on the siblings with their topics and wishes. Here they can be carefree children, fool around, romp about without feeling guilty and without having to constantly exercise consideration. In the community, siblings find answers and develop their own strategies that can strengthen them in everyday life.
