A hospice for the Rheingau-Taunus district

Living with dignity until the end, we want to give life more days and the days more joy. We want people to be able to spend their last phase of life in a peaceful environment. That is why we are committed to creating a last home for the elderly and sick in the Rheingau-Taunus region.

The foundation promotes measures and projects to accompany and support seriously ill and dying people and their social environment. This is done irrespective of age, confession or religious affiliation, as well as irrespective of the form of care they receive. Above all, it also contributes measures for the establishment and promotion of an inpatient hospice. This also includes, for example, supporting funding through fundraising appeals, charity events, fundraising, etc. Commissioning third parties to support the construction such as construction companies, engineering services, craftsmen, legal and tax advice, etc., support in setting up the project structure and project management and implementation are also part of this.

Outpatient care is our basis for joint work; it must be maintained in its current form and should even be expanded if necessary. The inpatient hospice only comes into play when outpatient care is no longer sufficient for patients and people have to be transferred to inpatient palliative care. Currently, this is only possible in Wiesbaden, Taunusstein or Flörsheim. There will be relief for everyone in Idsteiner Land only when our hospice opens.

Our hospice is to be built in Ludwigstraße in Idstein on an 1800 square meter leasehold plot in 2.5-story construction with a large green roof terrace. There will be 10 bright, comfortable guest rooms as well as 2 additional rooms for family members or loved ones, a large common room with seating areas and kitchen as well as a room of silence for saying goodbye. A large group room for training sessions on the upper floor will also be usable as a mourning café.

In 2025, we would like to welcome our first guests.

The hospice construction is a voluntary project. The total project costs will be over 5 million euros. Since there is no investor, we have to finance everything from our own resources. Even if some of the work is done on a voluntary basis, there is still more than 4.4 million euros to be raised. For this we need you, every single person in Idsteiner Land, the surrounding area and beyond, otherwise the project cannot be accomplished.
