About this project

- Girls in Uganda are not only disadvantaged and undervalued compared to boys due to frequent unequal treatment, but also face challenges such as unpaid work at home and the risk of sexual assault.
- And - wouldn't you know it - they lack the simplest measures for dealing with their menstrual cycle. As a result, many girls simply have to stay home during their periods and often drop out of school simply because of these absences.
Growth Care Uganda therefore produces packs of three reusable cloth sanitary pads for menstruation. Lichtstrahl Uganda e. V. buys these for 5 EUR/pack and gives them to the girls free of charge, educates them and shows them how to use and care for the cloth sanitary napkins. We are therefore happy to collect small donations for further packs so that we can support many girls in their menstrual hygiene and thus also in their uninterrupted school attendance.
By the way: For only 250 EUR, a child can attend school for one year in one of our very good quality schools. It receives a school uniform, is provided with learning utensils, receives initial medical care and a hot meal a day.
