aula - Schule gemeinsam gestalten

The German education system falls short in providing students with meaningful opportunities to actively shape and participate in decisions that directly affect them, thereby impeding the essential development of their self-efficacy - an integral prerequisite for believing in their own abilities to contribute to society. This situation is a result of the authoritarian structure that permeates schools, where top-down decision-making and limited student agency prevail.

With a vision to reinvigorate democracy, aula introduces ressources and an online platform that fosters a culture of participation in schools and enables students to assume responsibility for not only their school environment but society as a whole.

We are looking for donors who will fund the establishment of democratic participation in four schools. This includes: 

- 1 introductory workshop

- Consultation on democratic institutions and needs in the school

- Installation and hosting of the online platform

- Accompaniment in establishing the system

- Learning materials and e-Learning on how to use aula and basic democratic competences

- two further workshops

- Technical and pedagogical support for two years (after that, aula is usually self-sufficient in schools)

The schools can be all over Germany and are recruited among the many schools who have shown interest in the project. Your contribution allows many students to grow up in a democratic environment.
