Olga has been out of Ukraine since Sunday night and is now safe in Germany. 

The small family – mother, father, and eight-month-old Milana – was picked up in the early morning hours after three weeks of preparation from the remote Volynska Oblast, where no medical care is available. A children's ambulance safely transported them to Bavaria in a 15-hour journey. 

The older sibling remains with their grandmother in Ukraine to finish the school year until the summer holidays – the grandmother herself does not wish to leave her home. 

One of our colleagues on-site brought the family flowers and chocolates, and a Ukrainian-speaking volunteer is now accompanying them through necessary administrative procedures and their first steps of settling in. 

The first doctor’s appointment has already taken place.
