For children in Nepal - The worlds highest triathlon in the Himalayas

BabuNani - Kinder in Nepal e.V.
A project from BabuNani - Kinder in Nepal e.V. in Kathmandu, Nepal
Human trafficking and child labour/slavery are major problems in Nepal. With your donation you help to save children, reintegrate them into their families and give them back their childhood. It's about much more than a triathlon.

About this project

Lukas Rathgeber from BabuNani - Kinder in Nepal e.V. is responsible for this project
Your donation for nepalese children in need: Human trafficking, slavery and forced labour are widespread in Nepal. The NGO "Access" helps directly & sustainable on site.

In 2016 I worked as a volunteer in Nepal for the NGO Access and saw for myself how many children in Nepal are victims of human trafficking, slavery and violence. Of course, taking part in a triathlon does not solve the problems on site, it should rather be a sign of more humanity and draw attention to this topic. Access rescues these children, reintegrates them into their families and gives children their childhood back. Access is a small local NGO funded entirely by donations. More information about NGO Access here: https://www.instagram.com/access.to.child.rights/.

The triathlon
: A 3.8km swim, 160km bike ride and a 42km run in the Himalayas. 7000m of elevation & up to an altitude of 4000m. A triathlon of extremes - certainly one of the hardest in the world and for sure the highest (More information about the race here: https://himalxtri.com. The target time will be between 16 - 20h and will demand everything from me, but it is about much more than about the triathlon:

Human traffickers roam remote areas, promising parents a better life for their children. They give their children with them without getting anything in return, buoyed by the hope that the children will have a better life than they had.

Access has a "Transithome" where the children live temporarily until it can be determined where the children are from. During this time, the children receive school education, medical care and are cared for. Access helps the parents with a start-up grant for the future. After reintegration, Access visits the children with their families at regular intervals.

The donations are urgently needed for:

-Transithome (maintenance, care, food)
-Medical supplies
-School (uniform, books, writing materials)
-Clothing
-Reintegration
-Start-up help for families
-Visits of the children in the families

I will be on site in Nepal from April 28th to May 21st and will report live on social media for what the donations are needed for:  https://www.instagram.com/lukexit/ and https://www.facebook.com/lukas.rathgeber. The triathlon will take place on May 6, 2023. The fundraiser will run until 2 weeks after the triathlon. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me: lukas.rathgeber@outlook.com.
