About this project

Meet each other, experience diversity and get active for peace-building.
In a first 7-day seminar week in October 2022 in Bakuriani in Georgia, the 25 participating young people from Armenia, Germany, Georgia, Poland and Ukraine met for the first time and dealt with topics such as diversity, peace and non-violent conflict resolution. The seminar was led by an international team of facilitators and saying goodbye to each other and to Georgia was hard for everyone.
Motivated to implement their own ideas, the young people returned to the communities they live in. In spring 2023, they will organise their own small projects for intercultural mixed youth groups in their local groups. Great ideas come up, such as a city rally with the smartphone app Actionbound to interesting places for young people with a migration history in Aalen, the art project "Peace Pillar" in Aalen or a juggling workshop in a shelter for Ukrainian children and young people in Warsaw. In Armenia, the youth groups visit the office of the United Nations and in Georgia, film and discussion afternoons on the topic of democracy take place in schools near the conflict region Abkhazia. The young people also take part in monthly online meetings with political activists from the partner countries and exchange views on the situation of refugees and unresolved conflicts.
...looking joyful forward to our reunion in Schwäbisch Gmünd in July 2023...
In July, the young people will meet for a 5-day seminar in the seminar house on the Hornberg in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Here we want to reflect on the experiences of the last months, get a deeper understanding and get to know possibilities how young people can become politically active for democracy and inclusion (e.g. campaign work) and which important role they play as local peacemakers. We will also visit organisations in and around Aalen that work with refugees and Ukrainians. At the end of the project, a brochure on the project and with tips and tricks for youth groups on how they can implement projects in their communities themselves will be produced.
The project is co-funded by the European Union and implemented with our partners The Institute of Innovation Foundation in Poland, Association Atinati and Center for Peace and Civic Development in Georgia and Armenian Progressive Youth in Armenia.
We would highly appreciate if you decide to support the costs of the seminar in Schwäbisch Gmünd and by this honor the amazing engagement of the youth during the last months.
