Solidarity with 6Rang, the "Queer voice of Iran"

"Stop executions and all violence against LGBT*!

That's what the Iranian Lesbian and Transgender Network 6Rang (https://6rang.org/english) stands for. The network advocates for LGBT* people facing death sentences, as in the international campaign to lift the death penalty against LGBT* activists Elham Choubdar and Zahra Seddiqi Hamadani (https://action.allout.org/de/m/66561cda/). 6Rang was able to contribute to the inclusion of the demands of the LGBT* community in the struggle for a free and democratic Iran in the document "Charter of Minimum Demands of Trade Union and Other Civil Society Organizations" of February 14, 2023 (https://der-liebe-wegen.org/ausnahmsweise-gute-nachrichten-aus-dem-iran/).

In particular, the network wants to show the situation of lesbians and transgender persons in a society where sexuality is generally a taboo and where any self-determination of women is suppressed, including through dress codes.

 

We are raising funds to support 6Rang's outreach efforts in Germany and their in-person online counseling for LGBT* individuals. Our solidarity campaigns "For the sake of Love" (www.der-liebe-wegen.org) and "Just Human" (www.just-human.de) begins on the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia on May 17, 2023 and ends on August 5, 2023 one week after the CSD Pride in Stuttgart. It stands for the fight for a world that no longer tolerates executions and any other form of violence against LGBT*!
