    About this project

Zoe Tabea Marsch from Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit BaWü is responsible for this project
The fifteen-year-old Abi grows up in a girls home in the South of India. While sneaking through the home, she enjoys taking pictures of her everyday life, seeing the world in detail and capturing moments and emotions.

Abi's photographs create an incredibly authentic and realistic image of her life. She could build a new dimension of intercultural storytelling, if international newspapers would publish Abi's photographic series in the future. This way people all over the world could get a special insight into her culture.

    Abi's talent
Due to her ability to approach butterflies carefully, Abi can take fascinating close-up images. You can observe the same in her approach to humans. It seems as if they don't even notice her, therefore don't get annoyed or start to fix their hair or arrange their dresses. Abi's pictures are realistic and natural.

She started to take photographs only a few weeks ago, mostly concentrating on nature photography - butterflies, flowers, sunsets, and birds. Furthermore, she photographs her sisters while they are playing games and takes portraits. Without any help she chooses backgrounds which perfectly fit with her motives, the backgrounds are not underwhelming neither too striking. Here you can find some of her work:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/oJpFiXxfVaqXYD1g7.

    Future projects
Abi's upcoming project is to put together a photographic series about her everyday life and to take videos for the youtube channel of the girls home. That way she can get used to working with image-editing programs and cutting videos.

You can watch Abi's development and see her projects on the youtube channel: @theHopeHouseEnglish, on Instagram and Facebook: @india_hopehouse and on the offical website of the girls home: https://www.indiahopehouse.org.

Children's homes often don't have the capacity to support the individual talents and dreams of every child. Especially artistic and independent professions are often left behind, children are encouraged to strive for a well-payed and promising jobs.
We think it is also extraordinary and important to support Abi's girls home, which gives each girl the opportunity to find a fulfilling job that suits their interests and talents.

Abi is thankful for every amount of help to realize her dream to become a photographer! Thank you to all her supporters.
