    About this project

    C. Schmidt from ? is responsible for this project
In 2005 I was in Nepal, Asia, where I was on a 4-week trekking tour to Mount Everest Base Camp. My guide, a local man named Nima Sherpa and I became close friends on this trip. I also met his family and they where in an extraordinary way kind to me. I stayed in touch with them after my return to Germany.

2 years later, 2008, a very sad message reached me. Nima Sherpa died after a bad altitude sickness. He left his wife and two children. The 2 kids – his daughter Yangzee (at the time 9) and his son Ashis (at the time 12) visit an English-medium private school to ensure that they have a brighter future than their father did. But as a consequence of the death of their father they can no longer afford their schooling. His widow started to work for a local factory but her salary covers only the bare necessities.

My aspiration is to consolidate the future of Yangzee and Ashis. The school fees are 100 Euro per month. 1.300 Euro (1200 Euro school fee plus 100 Euro bank charges) covers a whole year.

Since 2009 I'm collecting the school fee for both kids by grateful people who support their future. The last 2 years many friends helped me on this project and kept both kids at school!

Your small change can make a big difference to Nima Sherpa‘s family!
