After the severe earthquake on February 6th, the emergency situation in many cities in Syria has worsened. Our partners are working directly on the ground who were already providing crisis aid before the earthquake, focusing on the residents of Aleppo, and who are now pitching in directly to help. The donations we collect reach the places where they are most urgently needed and are used primarily to finance food, hygiene items and medical supplies.
Today, Feb. 07, 2023, we received several photos and voicemails from Paul B., our trusted person on the ground, through which he sadly brought to our attention the extent of the destruction:
"Many of the first responders, security forces, and relief workers from charitable organizations battled the freezing cold as they used excavators to clear debris and search for buried people. As the sun shone, many people tried to warm up a bit and then move on."
