The Irrlicht e.V. is a non-profit association in Berlin for friends of fantastic culture, role-playing games, tabletops and boardgames and cardgames. Our unique club house, die WeltenSchmiede, has been available to our members and guests for 15 years now. Three rooms of different sizes invite you to play, do handicrafts, chat and linger. There are now more than 650 board games and around 200 rule and adventure books for various role-playing systems on our premises, so there is something for everyone. From entertaining family games to expert games with a playing time of up to 14 hours, we have everything on the table.
Our goal is to promote the communication skills and imagination of the players through role-playing games and to promote skills such as willingness to cooperate and social skills in board games. We also support art and culture projects - primarily fantastic culture - for example in the form of readings.
In addition to the internal events, we regularly offer public events.
Every Monday evening it's "Monday is Funday", every second Friday it's "Friday is Highday" and on the first Saturday of the month the big WeltenSchmiede Spieletag takes place. For the role players there is an RPG speed dating in which players and game masters are brought together. In the role-play test track, members can try out the role of the GM. Our public events are free, they are offered by our members on a voluntary basis. It is important to us to bring our guests closer to games as a cultural asset and to be a permanent fixture in the Berlin games community.
We are around 100 active members who organize and manage themselves. In addition to membership fees, we are mainly financed by donations. Due to generally increased prices and specifically increased rental prices, we will be even more dependent on donations in the future.
In order to maintain and expand our offer, we need your support to keep the gates of imagination open for everyone.
