About this project

Matthias Lindner from Heilsarmee Korps Chemnitz is responsible for this project
Mobile on the road to feed the needy and homeless

With our emergency vehicle, which distributes over 6,000 hot meals and drinks to people in need every year, we are out and about in the hotspots of Chemnitz, exactly where the need is greatest. However, our emergency vehicle, which makes this vital work possible in the first place, is badly damaged and in danger of breaking down.

We don't just bring food to the people who rely on our help every week: We provide support with homelessness, addiction problems and offer medical help and emotional support. We are directly on site where the need is greatest and provide people with personal support that they would otherwise often not experience. We also deploy our emergency vehicle in the event of major disasters to provide rapid support to helpers and those affected

Unfortunately, the current condition of the emergency vehicle is worrying: there is rust everywhere, the floor is leaking, the battery no longer charges and the washbasin and interior lighting are broken. Even the side flap we use to open the van no longer works. We fear that the van will not pass the MOT.

The Salvation Army has already been able to raise 10,000 euros for this. 50,000 euros are still missing so that the help for the people of Chemnitz in need can continue.
