About this project

Victoria Steiner from Hope for Future e.V. is responsible for this project
ROMANIA.......
A country in which animals have no lobby...they are simply not worth anything and therefore the suffering of these animals is very, very great. For us here in Germany, it is hard to imagine the misery one encounters if one dares to go to this country.... Dogs are simply abandoned or left in one of the countless "public shelters" (often killing stations), humiliated, beaten.they have to eke out their "lives" in dirty, stinking holes, get insufficient food and water, often get sick, around them pure stress...but no one cares. On the streets, dogs everywhere, emaciated, run over, sick...and the many puppies that will never have a chance of a warm bed....

But it is the right to a good life for every single animal that drives the animal welfare activist Maria with her rescue work. For several years now she has been helping exactly these maltreated souls. She takes care of sick and injured animals, picks up puppies from danger zones and takes care of them, feeds strays in her region so that they feel full at least a few times. In doing so we try to support her financially as much as possible and are also on site several times a year to help there.

Unfortunately, Maria is now home to around 400 dogs and cats, which she has found on the street, rescued from a shelter before death or, unfortunately, often simply dumped in front of her property. In 2019 she had to move with her animals because she was no longer wanted at her old place and the authorities had announced an evacuation, which would have meant death for the dogs. A piece of land was found outside, far away from built-up areas, far and wide no neighbours.on this piece of land, Maria's dream of her own refuge for her dogs can be realised.a place of security, where the animals can live in peace!from here, she hopes to be able to find a real home in a family for them later.

BUT SHE CAN'T DO IT ALONE!!!WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Some things have already been achieved, for which we are very grateful: the land has been bought thanks to donations and the construction of the kennels has begun, a solar system for electricity and 2 containers as a cat house and makeshift veterinary station have been bought, as well as a tank as a small sewage treatment plant for the droppings of the many dogs. Maria urgently needs help for everything else. The kennels and roofing need to be improved. Next year we would like to build a run for the dogs to give them a better quality of life.
We need 150-200 kg of dry food per day, and the animals need veterinary care.

Every little donation helps! Please do not forget the dogs now! Many thanks
