We have big plans for 2023! We are starting the new year with a big goal: we finally want to do something so that seniors are less often alone and get the support they need. That is why we will train young people to design and implement supportive offers for seniors.
The project:
Seniors are far too often alone. They need support, companionship and often just someone to talk to in everyday life. Nursing services only do what is absolutely necessary. And: Fewer and fewer families live under one roof. This not only creates gaps in supply - senior citizens are often lonely. They have so much to give.
Young people often do not know that they have wonderful abilities and that they can use them to make a positive difference. We know that there is a lack of spaces in which young people can discover them. Rooms in which they can take responsibility, have the opportunity to try themselves and be taken seriously.
That is why we want to start training young people in 2023 to develop and implement supportive offers for seniors. To this end, the young people take part in a 10-day program in which they deal with themselves and their abilities. They learn how to develop and implement supportive offers for seniors. Whether shopping together, going to the theater together, offering sports in the senior citizens' home, running smartphone courses or moderating discussion groups - we accompany the young people in practice and regularly reflect on the process with them. We always serve as an interface between the young people and the seniors.
Why we need your help:
As a non-profit association, we finance ourselves primarily through grants. For all larger projects, however, it is necessary to bring in your own funds. This is usually around 20% of the total cost. We have to acquire this own share from membership fees and donations. That's why we need your support. With your donation, you also make it possible for us to train young people and ensure that seniors are less likely to be alone. Because: 100% of the donations flow directly into our work. We are very happy about your support. You will also help us a lot if you tell others.
