Our operational team 2023 - to plan and lead our activities in South Africa

"Creating opportunities for young people to learn and grow" - this has been our vision since we started Bridging Gaps in 2013. Back then, we had a dream - to see previous participants taking over and continuing the work independently from the founding team.
In 2015, started this journey - We established the "Growth Path", a multi-year extensive training programme. To date, we trained 45 facilitators, who were leading activities and games at our youth camps and 15 supervisors who joined our team of adults running the camps and supervising all participants.
2022 marked a huge milestone for us - we established an operational team of three young adults who have been part of Bridging Gaps for 8 years and they were planning and co-ordinating all our youth camps without any older supervisors being needed anymore.
In 2023, we would like to continue this journey - we want to have a new operational team, which will be managed by one of the young adults who worked in the team in 2022.
But for this we need financial support - it is very important to us to pay a stipend to show appreciation for the team's work- but also to improve the living conditions of young people in South Africa. At a young age they have to fight against the terribly high youth unemployment and at the same time, they have a responsibility to support their families and reduce the poverty around them.
