About this project
Anyone who has no shelter and lives in emergency accommodation or has to stay with relatives is considered homeless. Although homelessness is a particularly stressful form of poverty and social exclusion, too little has been done so far to help these people out of their misery.
In recent months, we have helped a total of about 1420 people in Berlin-Mitte (including at Alexanderplatz). Those affected received the following help:
Warm food with 2x 200 rolls
Fruit, warm tea, juice
Hygiene articles
Clothes distribution with 30 pairs of socks, 30 pants and 50 T-shirts in all sizes for women and men.
Children's items and toys
Bags
30 sleeping bags
Talks and social counselling to help people escape homelessness in the long term.
We urgently need more donations to continue helping people. 100% of the donations will be used for charitable purposes. Until the end of 2022, we still need 26,000 EUR to establish a permanent and professional counselling and emergency collection point on site in Berlin-Mitte.
Cost overview:
8,500 EUR for sleeping bags, hygiene articles and other donations in kind.
9,850 EUR for the establishment and year-round support of a professional and sustainable counselling centre
7,650 EUR for the provision of food and tea.
The remaining costs are covered by the non-profit organisation's own funds.
