    About this project

Robert Högerle from Emergination Africa e.V. is responsible for this project
Through this fundraiser, Emergination Africa plans to fund several teams in Zimbabwe to participate in the 2022 Virtual Innovation Accelerator (VIA) competition. The VIA is the second stage of a multi-month program in which students from urban and rural areas of the country learn to develop entrepreneurial ideas and business plans. They are accompanied by experienced coaches over a period of 6 months before presenting their idea to investors in the nationwide competition finals in order to obtain funding.

The VIA is preceded by the National Business Case Competition (NBCC), in which over 240 schools from all over Zimbabwe participated this year. The best schools and student teams now move on to the next round with the Virtual Innovation Accelerator.

Some impressions from this year's National Business Case Competition can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjTzqqe_QTc.

    Challenge
Due to the lack of financial resources, young talents often do not have the opportunity to participate in platforms like the National Business Case Competition, despite their high potential. Yet these are precisely the platforms that support young entrepreneurs in launching profitable business ventures that can provide new employment opportunities and thus economic progress in their communities.

    Solution
The National Business Case Competition is a platform that equips future entrepreneurs from urban and rural high schools in Zimbabwe with business-relevant skills. Through the NBCC, critical thinking, problem-solving and entrepreneurial skills are fostered and self-confidence is enhanced. Participants are empowered to develop innovative business ideas that address current challenges facing society. To this end, Emergination Africa trains teachers who will in turn coach over 1,000 talents and future entrepreneurs for 6 months in developing their business ventures.

    Long-term impact
Our goal is to have 100% of the program participants develop and present innovative business ideas and prototypes to gain a practical understanding of entrepreneurship that they can use in the future. Therefore, we aim to continue to support 70% of program participants:in their entry into employment or start-up careers after VIA. In subsequent years, we hope to see knowledge transfer and the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Zimbabwe through active engagement of program graduates as NBCC coaches.
